Sign in to your organization's portal

Connect the Billet app to your organization's portal. You sign in in your browser, so Billet never sees your password.

The Billet app does not have a password box. It sends you to your browser, where you sign in the way your organization normally signs you in, and then you let the app in.

Sign in for the first time

  1. Open Billet.
  2. Open the deployment menu at the top left and choose Connect to a server....
  3. Type your portal's address, starting with https://, for example https://portal.example.com. Your IT team gives you this address.
  4. Billet opens your browser at the portal. Sign in there.
  5. The portal asks whether to let the Billet app on this computer in, and shows a code. Press Allow only if the code matches the one Billet is showing.
  6. Go back to Billet. It reads Signed in to your portal, and lists your desktops.

Billet waits five minutes for you to finish in the browser. If you take longer, start again from step 2.

Why the code matters

Anybody can send you a link that opens a sign-in page. The code is how you know the request came from the copy of Billet in front of you. If Billet is not showing a code, or the codes differ, close the page without pressing Allow.

How long you stay signed in

Billet stays signed in while it is open, and renews its sign-in by itself. It does not store your sign-in on disk: when you quit Billet, you sign in again next time.

If Billet says it could not renew its sign-in and it has run out, choose Sign in again.

More than one portal

If you use desktops from more than one organization, connect to each portal the same way. The deployment menu lists each one and whether you are signed in to it. Choose All deployments to see every desktop together.

Signing out

Signing out of Billet does not sign your browser out of the portal. To end both, sign out on the portal's page in your browser too.

If it does not work

Billet says What to do
Billet signs in over HTTPS only. Use an https:// address. Type the address starting with https://.
Leave any user name or password out of the address. Type only the address, for example https://portal.example.com.
Could not reach ... Check the address, and that this computer can open it in a browser. On a company network, a proxy may be in the way.
Signing in stopped without an answer. Try again. The browser step was closed or timed out. Start again.
