Upgrade
Run the newer Billet-Host-<version>-windows-x64-setup.exe as an administrator. A machine that is already enrolled skips the enrollment page and keeps its credential, so it stays the same desktop with the same owner.
Without prompts:
Billet-Host-1.0.1-windows-x64-setup.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART
The installer stops the running service, replaces the program and starts it again, so anybody connected to the desktop is disconnected for a moment. Upgrade when it is not in use.
The Billet Stats Agent is upgraded by the same installer.
Remove
On the machine, open Settings, Apps, Installed apps:
- Uninstall Billet Host. This removes the host agent service and its firewall rule.
- Uninstall Billet Stats Agent too, if the machine is leaving Billet.
Both leave %ProgramData%\Billet and the machine's credential in place. Delete that folder as well to remove every trace, after which reinstalling makes it a new machine that needs a new token.
Then, in the console, delete the desktop from its page with Delete desktop..., or keep it to enroll a replacement machine into.
Rebuild or replace a machine
To move a desktop to a rebuilt or different machine without reassigning it:
- On the desktop's page in the console, choose Enroll a machine as this desktop... and create a token.
- Install Billet Host on the new machine with that token.
The new machine becomes the same desktop and keeps its owner. See Register a desktop and create an enrollment token.
